I can't believe that they might fine Terrell Owens for his Twiiter yesterday!

I am probably going to get some people mad at this post so if you are one of those people maybe you shouldn't read any further.  Yesterday before the Bengal's game Terrell Owens used Twitter to say that some lucky fan was going to get an autographed item at the game from him and Chad.  The NFL has a rule that you can't twitter anything 90 minutes before the football game.  The twitter message was completely genuine and was not taking away from anything that the game had to offer....he wasn't criticizing the opposite players, the opposite coach's, or the NFL.....Please tell me how you can fine a guy who is being a good ambassador for the game.  I log on to Yahoo this morning and one of its top stories is how T.O. violated NFL policy and probably will get fined....Really?  I feel sorry for Chad and T.O. because it really doesn't matter what they do.  Especially Owens.  There are so many players in the league who are committing crimes that don't get half the exposure that Chad and T.O. get for doing nice things.  I'm not saying you have to love everything they do but geez cut them some slack..They both have completely stayed out of Legal trouble their whole careers...shouldn't they get a little credit for that.  I think it is really odd that there is scandal brewing with Brett Favre and he was nowhere to be found on the front page of Yahoo.  I know this will anger people but I think that race has to play a role somewhere in there.  I think America still has problems with vocal African American athletes.  I don't think all of America does...but when you see the publicity that Chad and T.O. get over the stupid stuff and then see other athletes problems get swept under the rug then it makes you wonder.  Brett Favre(The Golden Boy of the NFL) is in trouble right now because he may or may not have sent nude photos to someone who was working in or around the Jets organization.  Someone they allegedly say had audio tapes of Brett practically begging her to go out with him.....he is married of course....I've heard the tapes and it does sound like Brett...of course this may be not true but shouldn't he be on the front page of Yahoo this morning.  I just think the NFL has no clue sometimes when it comes to just having fun with the game.  I know what a lot of you are going to say is that Bill is a Bengals fan and he is just being a homer.....Yep that's right.  I am a homer.  I still respected Owen's game long before he was a Bengal.  I didn't always agree with how he handled the media especially in Philly..but I thought that was a two way street between him and McNabb.  I think he got way too much of the blame there....He played in the Superbowl with a broken leg/Foot and he played well.  That's not selfish people.  Both Chad and T.O. are always in top shape before the season starts, they stay out of off field legal  problems, and they perform on the field.  I think that people should concentrate more on the on field stuff but I know that's not going to happen.  I definitely understand some of the frustration that some fans have with them both.  I agree sometimes they should just keep their comments to themselves....but when a microphone is stuck in your face after a game and the reporters are trying to get you to screw up and say something stupid then see how you do.  Think about it .....you have worked a hard day at work but nothing goes right, your boss is a dick, customers are douche bags, and then on the way to your car a reporter comes up and asks you why you performed the way you did?....It wouldn't be easy.  The media is to blame and that's a whole other blog.  I really think the NFL should take a pass on the fining of Terrell Owens this week and understand that it was a nice gesture that paints a good light on the NFL.  I am personally entertained by most of the shenanigans  that T.O. and Chad do on a weekly basis...not all of them....and yes they are a little self indulged..ok a lot...but as long as they perform and stay out of legal troubles it doesn't bother me.  Just on Sundays......CATCH THE BALL..haha..no more 3rd down drops guys....
