Anyone else sick of 3d movies?

I'm all for technology. I understand that watching a movie in 3d can be a great experience if done right. Unfortunately every other movie now is coming out in 3d and the majority of the 3d is crap. The beauty of 3d in the past was that it was a novelty that only came around once in a while. I used to be excited to go and see a movie in 3d because it was a unique experience. Now we have to pay an extra 2-3 dollars to see a movie in 3d. I recently went to see Resident Evil Afterlife in 3d. The movie itself was decent but the 3d wasn't very good at all. I felt like I was paying an extra 3 bucks to look stupid in 3d glasses. Some movies like Cameron's Avatar get the 3d right and it's worth that extra money but on a whole I have a big problem paying this "3d"charge. I could be mistaken, but years ago when I saw Freddy's dead in 3d, I don't remember having to pay extra to see it in 3d. Why do I have to now? Are the new glasses really that expensive? I would much rather where those old flimsy 3d glasses for free than wear the new ones for 3 bucks a movie. I also can't believe the movies that are coming out in 3d. My personal favorite is STEP UP in 3d. Really? A freaking dance movie in 3d.......I wouldn't pay 3 bucks to see the movie in it's regular form let alone 12 bucks for the 3d experience. Unfortunately I see no end in sight for this new 3d phase. The funny thing is that I have not heard anyone really wanting these movies in 3d. It seems like they are force feeding these movies down our throat and subconsciously tricking us into wanting every future movie in that format. We now have televisions that are 3d so I guess I'm just going to have to get used to it but it would be nice if the movie business would get rid of these additional charges.
